An Hb (Hemoglobin) test measures the level of hemoglobin (Hb) in the blood. This test is a key indicator of anemia (a deficiency of red blood cells). It is often done as part of a complete blood count (CBC) test.

An Hb (Hemoglobin) test can be done:

• To identify different types of anemia and other red blood cell disorders, such as polycythemia vera.
