Overview
What is RBS (Random Blood Sugar)?
An RBS (Random Blood Sugar) test measures the level of blood sugar in a person’s blood at any random time of the day. This test is done when you show symptoms of diabetes or to check the response of ongoing treatment if you are already diagnosed with diabetes. It is often done as part of a routine health checkup.
Interpreting RBS (Random Blood Sugar) results
Interpretations
-
According to American Diabetic Association and WHO, if your random blood glucose is greater than or equal to 200 mg/dl, you have diabetes.
-
If the levels are between 140 and 200 mg/dl, you are at increased risk of developing diabetes (Pre-diabetic).
