AERODIL EXPECTORANT is used in the relief of cough associated with bronchitis, bronchial asthma, emphysema, and other bronchopulmonary disorders where bronchospasm, mucous plugging, and problems of expectoration co-exist (lung and airway diseases that have excessive and thick mucus formation, swelling, and inflammation of airways, making it difficult to breathe).

AERODIL EXPECTORANT is a combination of Ambroxol, Guaiphenesin, and Terbutaline, which belong to the group of medicines called Mucolytics, Expectorant, and Beta agonists, respectively. Ambroxol thins and loosens mucus, making it easier to cough out. Guaiphenesin is an expectorant that decreases the stickiness of mucus and helps in its removal from the airways. Terbutaline works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widening the airways.

Before taking AERODIL EXPECTORANT, inform your doctor if you have or have ever had a stomach ulcer, pre-existing ischaemic heart disease, or those patients with significant risk factors for ischaemic heart disease, thyrotoxicosis (a condition in which you have too much thyroid hormone in your body), diabetes mellitus, or hypertension.

AERODIL EXPECTORANT should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women and elderly patients. AERODIL EXPECTORANT is recommended in children to relieve symptoms after calculating the correct dose according to their weight and body mass. The common side effects of AERODIL EXPECTORANT are tremor (shaky hands), headache, tachycardia (heat beats faster), palpitations (feeling aware of your heartbeat), muscle spasms, and hypokalaemia (low plasma potassium levels).
