Description:

Alprax Plus Tablet SR is a prescription medicine used to treat depression. It is a combination medicine which calms the brain by decreasing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells. It also increases the levels of some chemical messengers in the brain and improves mood.

Alprax Plus Tablet SR may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.

Pregnancy interaction:

Alprax Plus Tablet SR is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.

Take caution while taking medicine if you are suffering from liver disease. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. How it works:

Alprax Plus Tablet SR is a combination of two medicines: Alprazolam and sertraline which have anxiety-lowering and mood-enhancing effects. Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine (BZD) which increases the action of GABA, a chemical messenger that suppresses the abnormal activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Sertraline is selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) which increases the levels of serotonin, a chemical messenger that improves mood.
