Information about Altraz Tablet- 14

Description:

Altraz Tablet- 14 is used along with other therapies in the treatment of breast cancer in postmenopausal women. This medicine is also used to treat women whose breast cancer has worsened after tamoxifen therapy.

Pregnancy interaction:

Altraz Tablet- 14 is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Your doctor has prescribed Altraz to treat breast cancer. Altraz lowers estrogen production in your body and reduces the growth of hormone-sensitive tumours. Altraz can be taken with food or on an empty stomach with a glass of water or juice. Nausea (upset stomach) and hot flashes (sudden sweating and feelings of warmth) may occur on starting treatment with Altraz but should go away with time. If nausea is bothersome, take it after meal. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible if it is within 12 hours of the missed dose. If it is more than 12 hours, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule.

Side Effects:

Headache, Hot flushes, Nausea, Skin rash, Musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain, Osteoporosis, Weakness.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Altraz Tablet- 14 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Altraz 1mg Tablet is an aromatase inhibitor. It works by lowering the amount of estrogen (natural female hormone) produced in the body. This can lower or stop the growth of some breast cancer cells that need estrogen to grow.
