Description:

Amlovas-L Tablet- 15 is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). This is a combination of two medicines that controls blood pressure when a single medication is not effective. It helps to lower high blood pressure and thus reduces the chances of future heart attack and stroke.

Pregnancy interaction:

Amlovas-L Tablet- 15 may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a history of angioedema or a family history of angioedema due to the increased risk of recurrent symptoms. Report any incidence of swelling of the face, lips, and eyes to the doctor on priority. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

Side Effects:

Ankle swelling, Headache, Tiredness, Palpitations, Increased potassium level in blood, Sleepiness, Cough, Altered taste, Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk), Decreased blood pressure, Stomach upset.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Amlovas-L Tablet- 15 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Amlovas-L Tablet- 15 is a combination of two medicines: Amlodipine and lisinopril which lower blood pressure effectively. It works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently.
