Description:

Amphy-1500 Injection is a combination medicine which may be used to treat bacterial infections in lungs, heart, brain, genital areas, etc. caused by susceptible bacteria. It should be used with caution in patients with kidney diseases due to the increased risk of adverse effects.

Pregnancy interaction:

Amphy -1500 Injection is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

Before using it, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any antibiotics or have any kidney or liver problems. Your doctor may change the dose or prescribe a different medicine. This medicine is generally regarded as safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding if used under a doctor’s supervision.

How it works:

Amphy -1500 Injection is a combination of two medicines: Amoxicillin and Sulbactam. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which blocks the action of enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate amoxicillin. Addition of Sulbactam reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Amoxicillin against bacteria.
