Description:

Augpen LB 1G Bid Tablet- 10 is a combination medicine used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Amoxycillin interferes with the growth and division process of the bacterial cell wall while clavulanic acid ensures extended anti-bacterial activity. This combination is used to treat severe bacterial infections of the lungs and airways, middle ear, sinuses, skin, and the urinary tract.

Treatment of Bacterial infections ,Treatment of Resistant Tuberculosis (TB)

Pregnancy interaction:

Augpen LB 1G Bid Tablet- 10 is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Augpen LB 1G Bid Tablet- 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Augpen LB 1G Bid Tablet- 10 is an antibiotic. It has three active agents, Amoxycillin, clavulanic acid, and lactobacillus. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas, clavulanic acid serves the special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. While these two medicines treat your child’s infection, they may upset your child’s digestive system by killing healthy gut bacteria due to the prolonged intake of this medicine. The third agent, lactobacillus helps prevent side effects such as diarrhea by restoring the balance of healthy bacteria in your child’s gut.
