Description:

Besicor-C 5 Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). It works by relaxing the blood vessels and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.

Uses / Indications:

Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Interactions / Warnings:

Taking Bisoprolol with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.

Pregnancy interaction:

Unknown. Human and animal studies are not available. Please consult your doctor.

Before taking it, let your doctor know if you have any liver or kidney problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor for advice before taking this medicine. You also need to tell your doctor what other medicines you are taking especially those used to treat high blood pressure or heart conditions.

Side Effects:

Sleepiness, Headache, Ankle swelling, Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk), Slow heart rate, Tiredness, Palpitations, Nausea, Edema (swelling), Constipation, Cold extremities.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Besicor-C 5 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Besicor-C 5 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Cilnidipine and bisoprolol which lower blood pressure effectively. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker which works by relaxing blood vessels while bisoprolol is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart to slow down the heart rate. Together, they make the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.
