Description:

Beza 400mg Tablet XL is a medicine used to treat high cholesterol. This medicine helps by lowering triglycerides and "bad" cholesterol (LDL), while at the same time raising the levels of "good" cholesterol (HDL). Lowering cholesterol levels reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Pregnancy interaction:

Beza 400mg Tablet XL may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Medication of choice for lowering triglyceride levels in the blood. Can reduce triglycerides by up to 50%. Regular exercise and low-fat diet further help to lower levels of fat in the blood. Take Beza half an hour before meals. Notify your doctor if you are more tired than usual, do not feel hungry, or if you have yellow eyes, skin or dark urine. Do not discontinue Beza without consulting your doctor even if you feel better. Avoid alcohol consumption (includes wine, beer, and liquor).

Side Effects:

Increased liver enzymes, Nausea, Flatulence, Abdominal pain, Diarrhoea, Vomiting.
