Description:

Brophyle SR Tablet- 10 is an effective bronchodilator medicine used to treat blockage, swelling, and irritation associated with bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults.

Uses / Indications:

Asthma and Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Interactions / Warnings:

Taking Brophyle SR Tablet- 10 may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.

Pregnancy interaction:

Unknown. Human and animal studies are not available. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

It is better to take Brophyle in the evening around 7-8 pm for protection against asthma symptoms throughout the night. Brophyle will not work for sudden wheezing or asthma attacks once they start. Always keep a fast-acting (rescue) inhaler with you. Not as effective as steroid inhalers for asthma. Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor even if you feel better. Notify your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with the kidney, liver or heart disease, or have a smoking history. Your dose may need to be adjusted. Taking Brophyle can reduce the requirement of steroids by 50%.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it.Brophyle SR Tablet- 10 may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Brophyle 200mg Tablet SR is a mucolytic and bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the muscles of the airways and also thins and loosens mucus, making it easier to breathe.

A: Brophyle is used to treat symptoms of bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It blocks the intracellular enzyme (phosphodiesterases) followed by increase in level of messenger known as cyclic adenosine monophosphate, which promotes relaxation of bronchial muscles

A: It inhibits the release of certain inflammatory chemicals (leukotrienes, tumor necrosis factor etc) in the lung thereby preventing inflammation in the lung. It also reduces thickness of the mucus thus making it easy for the patient to clear the mucus load
