Description:

Ciledge CT 12.5mg Tablet is a combination of medicines used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). It also helps to reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack.

Uses / Indications:

Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Interactions / Warnings:

Taking Chlorthalidone with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.

Pregnancy interaction:

Ciledge CT 12.5mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Before taking it, let your doctor know if you have any liver or kidney problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor for advice before taking this medicine. You also need to tell your doctor what other medicines you are taking especially those used to treat high blood pressure or heart conditions. You should have your blood pressure, kidney function, level of electrolytes, and blood sugar level checked regularly to make sure that this medicine is working properly.

Side Effects:

Glucose intolerance, Sleepiness, Headache, Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk), Tiredness, Palpitations, Nausea, Increased blood uric acid, Decreased potassium level in blood, Altered blood lipids.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ciledge CT 12.5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Ciledge CT 12.5mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Cilnidipine and chlorthalidone which lower blood pressure effectively. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker which relaxes blood vessels and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body by increasing the amount of urine produced. Over time it also works by relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow.
