Information about Cilnicab-TM Tablet

Description:

Cilnicab-TM Tablet contains two medicines, both of which help to control high blood pressure. It lowers the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and making it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body. This will reduce your risk of having a heart attack or a stroke.

Uses / Indications:

Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Interactions / Warnings:

Taking Telmisartan with alcohol may excessively lower the blood pressure.

Pregnancy interaction:

Cilnicab-TM Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have any kidney or liver problems or severe dehydration. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking it. While using this medicine, your blood pressure will need to be checked often and your kidney function may also need to be tested.

Side Effects:

Altered taste, Ankle swelling, Headache, Dizziness, Weakness, Numbness of extremity, Nausea, Edema (swelling), Stomach upset, Diarrhoea, Flushing of skin, Increased potassium level in blood, Decreased blood pressure.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cilnicab-TM Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Cilnicab-TM Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Cilnidipine and Telmisartan which lower blood pressure effectively. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB) and Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). They work by relaxing the blood vessels and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.
