Interactions / Warnings:

Taking Hydrochlorothiazide with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.

Pregnancy interaction:

Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Side Effects:

Weakness, Cold extremities, Slow heart rate, Nightmare, Increased blood lipid level, Increased blood uric acid, Glucose intolerance, Decreased potassium level in blood, Decreased sodium level in blood, Decreased magnesium level in blood, Increased uric acid level in blood.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Propranolol and Hydrochlorothiazide. Propranolol is a beta blocker. It works by widening and relaxing the blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time, it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.
