Description:

Clavric-LB Tablet- 10 is a combination medicine used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Amoxycillin interferes with the growth and division process of the bacterial cell wall while clavulanic acid ensures extended anti-bacterial activity. This combination is used to treat severe bacterial infections of the lungs and airways, middle ear, sinuses, skin, and the urinary tract.

Uses / Indications:

Treatment of Bacterial infections ,Treatment of Resistant Tuberculosis (TB)

Pregnancy interaction:

Clavric-LB Tablet- 10 is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Share your child’s entire medical history with the doctor, including any previous episode of allergy, heart problem, blood disorders, birth defects, airway obstruction, lung anomaly, gastrointestinal problems, skin disorders, liver impairment, and kidney malfunction. This information will assist the doctor in making dose alterations and in planning your child’s overall treatment.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Clavric-LB Tablet- 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Clavric-LB Tablet- 10 is an antibiotic. It has three active agents, Amoxycillin, clavulanic acid, and lactobacillus. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas, clavulanic acid serves the special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. While these two medicines treat your child’s infection, they may upset your child’s digestive system by killing healthy gut bacteria due to the prolonged intake of this medicine. The third agent, lactobacillus helps prevent side effects such as diarrhea by restoring the balance of healthy bacteria in your child’s gut.
