Dapsone 100mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Dapsone should be used with caution in patients with heart or lung disease.Regular blood counts should be performed during treatment with dapsone to check incidence of hemolysis (breakdown of red blood cells).If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, but suffering from leprosy, your doctor may prescribe you folic acid supplements along with dapsone.

Side Effects:

Nausea, Increased sensitivity to light, Itchy rash, Liver inflammation, Liver function abnormal, Anemia (low number of red blood cells), Dapsone syndrome, Headache, Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), Jaundice, Loss of appetite, Tachycardia, Nerve injury, Tingling sensation of extremity, Vomiting.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Dapsone 100mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
