Description:
DDR 60 Capsule MR is a medicine that reduces the amount of acid produced in your stomach. It is used for treating acid-related diseases of the stomach and intestine such as heartburn, acid reflux, and some other stomach conditions associated with excessive acid production.
You should take DDR 60 Capsule MR as your doctor advises. The dose will depend on what you are being treated for, but it should be the lowest dose for the shortest amount of time needed to treat your condition. It should be given as an injection into the vein by a healthcare professional. It may take up to a few weeks to work properly but your doctor will tell you how long you need to be taking it for. You should keep on taking it as prescribed even if your symptoms disappear quickly. If you are taking this medicine for a long time, your doctor may carry out regular tests to check your levels of magnesium which can fall with this medicine.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, and feeling or being sick. These tend to be mild but talk to your doctor if they bother you or do not go away. The risk of side effects may increase the longer you take this medicine. Serious side effects are rare, but some need immediate medical attention. Ask your doctor what these are. You may be more likely to have a broken bone if you take it for a long time. It is best to avoid foods that seem to make your symptoms worse, such as rich, spicy and fatty foods. It also helps to cut down on caffeinated drinks, such as tea, coffee and cola, as well as alcohol.
DDR 60 Capsule MR is not suitable for some people. Before taking this medicine, you need to tell your doctor if you have severe liver problems, are taking medicines for HIV, have had an allergic reaction to similar medicines in the past or have osteoporosis. Alcohol does not interfere with the way DDR 60 Capsule MR works. However, drinking alcohol makes your stomach produce more acid than normal. This medicine can make you feel dizzy, sleepy, or affect your vision. If this happens, do not drive, cycle or use machinery or tools until you feel better. It is not usually recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Benefits of DDR Capsule MR
In Heartburn
Heartburn and acid reflux happens when a muscle above your stomach relaxes too much and allows stomach contents and acid to come back up into your esophagus and mouth. DDR 60 Capsule MR belongs to a group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors. It reduces the amount of acid your stomach makes and relieves the pain associated with heartburn and acid reflux. You can increase the efficiency of the medicine by making certain lifestyle changes. These include avoiding foods that trigger the symptoms, eating smaller more frequent meals, losing weight if you are overweight.
In Gastroesophageal reflux disease (Acid reflux)
GERD is a chronic (long-term) condition which is like having heartburn consistently rather than just occasionally. It happens because a muscle above your stomach relaxes too much and allows stomach contents to come back up into your esophagus and mouth. DDR 60 Capsule MR belongs to a group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors. It reduces the amount of acid your stomach makes and relieves the pain associated with heartburn and acid reflux. You should take it exactly as it is prescribed for it to be effective.
Some simple lifestyle changes can help reduce the symptoms of GERD. Think about what foods trigger heartburn and try to avoid them; eat smaller more frequent meals; try to lose weight if you are overweight and try to find ways to relax. Do not eat within 3-4 hours of going to bed.

Expert advice:
How to use:
How it works:
Faq for medicine:
A: Ddr can be used for different durations depending on the condition. It is used in adults for 4 weeks to treat heartburn related to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in which acid from stomach enters food pipe (esophagus). It is used for 8 weeks to heal acid-related damage to the food pipe (called reflux esophagitis or RE) and for up to 6 months to continue healing of erosive esophagitis.
Q: How does Ddr work for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease?
A: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) happens when high acid secretion in your stomach enters your food pipe (esophagus) and causes a burning feeling in chest (heartburn) or throat, sour taste or burping. Ddr acts by decreasing the acid produced in the stomach and relieves the symptoms of GERD.
Q: Are there any withdrawal symptoms associated with the use of Ddr?
A: There are no withdrawal symptoms seen when you stop using Ddr as it has no addiction potential.
Q: Is Ddr available over the counter?
A: No, Ddr is not an over-the-counter product. It is a prescription medicine and is available only when prescribed by a physician.
Q: Does long term use of Ddr can increase the risk of osteoporosis and bone fractures?
A: Ddr can cause calcium deficiency and hence an increased risk of bone fractures on long term use. Normally the acid in the stomach helps in the release of ionized calcium which is important for calcium absorption. As Dexlansoprazole decreases the stomach acid, it also decreases calcium absorption and an increases the risk of bone fractures.
Q: Can Ddr cause diarrhea?
A: Use of Ddr may increase your risk of getting severe diarrhea. This diarrhea may be caused by an infection (Clostridium difficile) in your intestines. Consult your doctor if you have watery stool, stomach pain, and fever that does not go away while you are taking this medicine.
Q: Can long term use of Ddr cause magnesium deficiency?
A: Long-term use of Ddr can lower your magnesium levels in patients taking multiple daily doses for a year or longer (at least 3 months). Get your magnesium levels checked at regular intervals.Tell your doctor if you experience seizures, dizziness, abnormal or fast heartbeat, jitteriness, jerking movements or shaking (tremors), muscle weakness, spasms of the hands and feet, cramps, muscle aches or spasm of the voice box.
Q: Can I take Ddr with clopidogrel?
A: Ddr can be safely taken with clopidogrel. No clinically important changes in the action of clopidogrel have been seen when Ddr and clopidogrel are used together.
Q: Is Ddr a narcotic?
A: Ddr is not a narcotic. It is a proton pump inhibitor used for the treatment of acidity, heartburn, intestinal ulcers and stomach ulcers.
Q: Is Ddr a controlled substance?
