Description:

Elu Syrup is used to treat cough. It thins the mucus in the nose, windpipe and lungs, making it easier to cough out. It reduces cough associated with allergies by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Elu Syrup- 100ml may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Elu Syrup is a combination of five medicines: Cetirizine, Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, Menthol, Ammonium Chloride and Zinc Gluconate. Cetirizine is an antiallergic which reduces cough associated with allergies by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger (histamine). Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Menthol produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation. Ammonium Chloride is an expectorant which helps remove mucus (phlegm) from the airways. Zinc Gluconate releases zinc ions into the throat. These ions prevent the cold virus from reproducing due to which the virus dies off faster and the cold ends sooner.
