Pregnancy interaction:

Fossical 35mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Do not lie down after taking the medicine. Wait at least 1 hour before taking any other medication or eating or drinking anything. Take calcium and vitamin D to help build your bones when taking Fossical. Do not take it during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while taking Fossical. Inform your doctor if you experience pain in jaw. This problem may be seen after dental work. Your doctor will monitor your response to Fossical by testing your bone mineral density (BMD). This is usually done every 1-3 years.

Musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain, Headache, Heartburn, Difficulty in swallowing.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Fossical 35mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Fossical 35mg Tablet is a bisphosphonate. It acts by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause the destruction of bone, thereby strengthening the bones and minimizing the risk of fractures.
