Information about Lafumac DSR 10 mg/30 mg Tablet

Interactions / Warnings:

Alcohol use can increase acid secretion, acid reflux in food pipe causing heartburn and decreasing effect of this drug. Also Lafutidine+Domperidone can decrease alcohol breakdown and increase its level in blood.

Pregnancy interaction:

Lafumac DSR 10 mg/30 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Side Effects:

Nausea, Diarrhoea, Dryness in mouth, Fatigue, Headache, Muscle pain, Drowsiness, Dizziness, Increased liver enzymes, Protein in urine, Increased uric acid level in blood.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Lafumac DSR 10 mg/30 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Lafumac DSR 10 mg/30 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Lafutidine and Domperidone which relieve symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Lafutidine is an H2 blocker (antacid). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in relief of acid-related indigestion and heartburn. Domperidone is a prokinetic which works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also acts on the upper digestive tract to increase the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach.
