Lubowel 24mcg Soft Gelatin Capsule may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Lubiprostone should preferably be taken with meals to reduce symptoms of nausea.Seek medical attention if you experience severe diarrhea, breathlessness (dyspnea) or difficulty in breathing, chest pain, tightness in chest during treatment.You should be thoroughly examined to confirm the absence of obstruction (e.g. gall stones, hernia, Crohn's disease, diverticulitis, polyps, impacted bowel movement etc.) before starting lubiprostone treatment.Lubiprostone is not recommended in children under 18 years of age.Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Side Effects:

Nausea, Headache, Dizziness, Palpitations, Edema (swelling), Dyspepsia, Abdominal pain, Abdominal distension, Increased sweating, Hot flushes, Diarrhoea, Flatulence, Breathlessness.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Lubowel 24 Soft Gelatin Capsule- 15 may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Lubowel 24mcg Soft Gelatin Capsule increases the secretion of fluids in the intestine, which in turn increases the motility of the intestine, thereby making the stool soft and easier to pass.
