Pregnancy interaction:

Metadoxil 500mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Metadoxil should be taken preferably after meals. Do not take antacids that contain aluminum while you are taking the Metadoxil. This is because antacids decrease the amount of Metadoxil absorbed by the body. Notify your doctor if you are breast-feeding.

Nausea, Rash, Abdominal pain, Hair loss, Itching, Diarrhoea.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Metadoxil 500mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Metadoxine belongs to class of drugs called liver protectives. It acts by increasing the alcohol elimination from the blood and tissues, thus preventing liver damage.
