Interactions / Warnings:

Taking Hydrochlorothiazide with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.

Pregnancy interaction:

Metonce H 50mg/12.5 mg Tablet XL may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Side Effects:

Nausea, Diarrhoea, Constipation, Fatigue, Headache, Dizziness, Nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the throat and nasal passages), Increased blood uric acid, Decreased potassium level in blood, Glucose intolerance, Altered blood lipids, Cold extremities, Slow heart rate, Decreased magnesium level in blood, Increased calcium level in blood.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Metonce H 50mg/12.5 mg Tablet XL may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Metonce H 50mg/12.5 mg Tablet XL is a combination of two blood-pressure lowering medicines: Metoprolol Succinate and Hydrochlorothiazide. tMetoprolol Succinate is a beta blocker which works specifically on the heart to reduce heart rate and make the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic which lowers blood pressure by removing extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Over time it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.
