Interactions / Warnings:

Oleanz 7.5mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.

Pregnancy interaction:

Oleanz 7.5mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Works well in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, including difficult cases. Allow at least 4 to 6 weeks to see full effects on thoughts and mood. You may feel dizziness and drowsiness when you start taking Oleanz. For the first week, avoid activities that require you to be alert. Oleanz may cause weight gain, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and high blood sugar. Tell your doctor if you have any unusual thoughts or behavior, inability to control muscle movements, or fever and excess sweating. Elderly people with dementia shouldn't take Oleanz. Avoid cigarette smoking as it can decrease Oleanz blood levels.

Side Effects:

Sleepiness, Weight gain, Increased prolactin level in blood, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing).

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Oleanz 7.5 Tablet- 10 may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
