Information about Philmont Tablet

Description:

Philmont Tablet is an effective bronchodilator medicine used to treat blockage, swelling, and irritation associated with bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults.

Uses / Indications:

Asthma and Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Interactions / Warnings:

Taking Philmont Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.

Pregnancy interaction:

Unknown. Human and animal studies are not available. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

It is better to take Philmont Tablet in the evening around 7-8 pm for protection against asthma symptoms throughout the night. Philmont Tablet will not work for sudden wheezing or asthma attacks once they start. Always keep a fast-acting (rescue) inhaler with you. Not as effective as steroid inhalers for asthma. Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor even if you feel better. Notify your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with the kidney, liver or heart disease, or have a smoking history. Your dose may need to be adjusted. TakingPhilmont Tablet can reduce the requirement of steroids by 50%.

Side Effects:

Nausea, Headache, Vomiting, Abdominal upset, Restlessness.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it.Philmont Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Philmont Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Acebrophylline, Desloratadine and Montelukast. Acebrophylline is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Desloratadine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation in the airways and nose and improves your symptoms.

Medicine interaction:

Philmont tablet may interact with other medicines and create an altered response. Please inform your doctor if you are consuming any other medicines, over-the-counter medicines (that you buy without a prescription), and herbal preparations
