Description:

Pressclav 200 mg/28.5 mg Tablet DT- 6 is a combination medicine used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Amoxycillin interferes with the growth and division process of the bacterial cell wall while clavulanic acid ensures extended anti-bacterial activity. This combination is used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs and airways, middle ear, sinuses, skin, and the urinary tract.

Pregnancy interaction:

Pressclav 200 mg/28.5 mg Tablet DT- 6 may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients having a history of gastrointestinal diseases, particularly colitis. How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Pressclav 200 mg/28.5 mg Tablet DT- 6 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Pressclav 200 mg/28.5 mg Tablet DT- 6 is a combination of two medicines: Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which blocks the action of enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate amoxicillin. Addition of Clavulanic Acid reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Amoxicillin against bacteria.
