Description:

Prostodin 125mcg Injection is a medicine used to control excessive bleeding from the uterus, that may occur after the childbirth. It stimulates contraction of the uterine muscles thus, helps to control post-delivery bleeding.

Pregnancy interaction:

Prostodin 125mcg Injection is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy.Human and animal studies have shown significant adverse effects on the foetus. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Inform your doctor if you are suffering from high or low blood pressure, have a history of a caesarean section or any other operation of the womb, suffer from glaucoma (raised pressure in your eyes), diabetes or epilepsy (fits). It is not advisable to drive or operate machinery soon after taking this injection as it may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Carboprost should not be used for induction of labour. Carboprost should not be administered intravenously.

Side Effects:

Nausea, Vomiting, Headache, Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk), Hot flushes, Diarrhoea, Chills, Placental retention, Uterine bleeding , Cough.

Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
