Description:

Qudict 2 mg/0.5 mg Tablet is a combination medicine used for the treatment of opioid dependence or addiction to opioids. It helps prevent withdrawal symptoms that may be caused due to the withdrawal of other opioids. It is only prescribed to individuals who are at least 16 years of age or above.

Interactions / Warnings:

Qudict 2 mg/0.5 mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.

Pregnancy interaction:

Qudict 2 mg/0.5 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Do not take buprenorphine if you are allergic to buprenorphine or any of its ingredients. Do not take buprenorphine if you have serious breathing problems; head injuries or brain disease; enlarged prostate gland; difficulties in passing urine; low blood pressure. Do not take buprenorphine if you are intoxicated due to alcohol or have delirium tremens (sudden and severe mental changes including tremors and hallucinations due to alcohol withdrawal). Do not drive a car or operate machinery as it is known to cause drowsiness. Taking buprenorphine may cause dizziness, lightheadedness especially when you get up too quickly from a lying position. Therefore, get out of bed slowly, resting your feet on the floor for a few minutes before standing up.

Headache, Sweating, Drug withdrawal syndrome, Nausea, Vomiting, Constipation, Numbness in mouth, Tongue pain, Back pain, Lightheadedness, Irregular heart beat, Blurred vision, Sleep disturbance, Difficulty in paying attention, Dizziness, Fainting, Sleepiness.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Qudict 2 mg/0.5 mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

How it works:

Qudict 2 mg/0.5 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: buprenorphine and naloxone which treat opioid addiction.tBuprenorphine is an opioid partial agonist. It prevents withdrawal symptoms in patients who stop taking opioid drugs by producing similar effects to these drugs. Naloxone is an opioid antagonist which blocks the opioid receptors to prevent withdrawal side effects.
