Description:

Race A 5 mg/2.5 mg Capsule is a combination medicine used for the treatment of high blood pressure. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age. Patients are advised to follow a strict exercise and diet regimen along with this medicine to get the best possible effect.

Hypertension (high blood pressure)

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Race A 5 mg/2.5 mg Capsule

Pregnancy interaction:

Race A 5 mg/2.5 mg Capsule is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Consumption of grapefruit juice is not recommended during treatment with this medicine due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects such as dizziness, headache, swelling of hands and feet, etc.

Side Effects:

Decreased blood pressure, Sleepiness, Altered taste, Headache, Ankle swelling, Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk), Tiredness, Palpitations, Increased potassium level in blood, Cough, Stomach upset.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Race A 5 mg/2.5 mg Capsule Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Race A 5 mg/2.5 mg Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Amlodipine and ramipril which lower blood pressure effectively. It works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently.
