Interactions / Warnings:

Taking Mefenamic acid with alcohol increases the risk of stomach bleeding.

Pregnancy interaction:

Spasmelan 15 mg/500 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Side Effects:

Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhoea, Indigestion, Dryness in mouth, Loss of appetite, Sleepiness, Weakness, Nervousness, Blurred vision, Heartburn.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Spasmelan 15 mg/500 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Spasmelan 15 mg/500 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: dicyclomine and mefenamic acid which relieve abdominal pain. Dicyclomine is an anticholinergic which works by relaxing the muscles in the stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms). By doing this, it relieves cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Mefenamic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).
