Description:

Spiromont-A Tablet- 10 is an effective bronchodilator medicine used to treat blockage, swelling, and irritation associated with bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults.

Uses / Indications:

Asthma and Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Interactions / Warnings:

Taking Spiromont-A Tablet- 10 may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.

Pregnancy interaction:

Unknown. Human and animal studies are not available. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

It is better to take Spiromont-A Tablet- 10 in the evening around 7-8 pm for protection against asthma symptoms throughout the night. Spiromont-A Tablet- 10 will not work for sudden wheezing or asthma attacks once they start. Always keep a fast-acting (rescue) inhaler with you. Not as effective as steroid inhalers for asthma. Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor even if you feel better. Notify your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with the kidney, liver or heart disease, or have a smoking history. Your dose may need to be adjusted. TakingSpiromont-A Tablet- 10 can reduce the requirement of steroids by 50%.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it.Spiromont-A Tablet- 10 may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Spiromont-A Tablet- 10 is a combination of two medicines: Acebrophylline and montelukast. Acebrophylline is a mucolytic. It thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation in the airways and nose to prevent asthma and relieve symptoms of allergies.
