Information about Survector 100mg Tablet

Description:

Survector 100 mg Tablet is a tricyclic antidepressant medicine used in the treatment of all types of depression. This medicine may increase the risk of habit-forming tendency if taken for a long duration or at larger doses. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor. Abrupt discontinuation of therapy may cause withdrawal symptoms.

Survector 100mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.

Pregnancy interaction:

Survector 100mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

The main dose should be taken at night as this drug may produce drowsiness or sleepiness. It can take 4 to 6 weeks for Survector to start working. You should continue the treatment for at least 6 months after you feel better to stop depression from coming back. If your doctor asks you to stop Survector, you should reduce the dose slowly over 4 weeks. You should not discontinue it abruptly. Avoid driving or operating machinery as it may decrease alertness. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Survector, as it may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness. The addiction/dependence potential of Survector is very less. It may be extremely dangerous in overdose.

Side Effects:

Sleepiness, Increased heart rate, Blurred vision, Dryness in mouth, Weight gain, Difficulty in urination, Constipation, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing).

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Survector 100mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
