Interactions / Warnings:

Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.

Pregnancy interaction:

Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.

Side Effects:

Nausea, Diarrhoea, Constipation, Dryness in mouth, Chalky taste, Blurred vision, Difficulty in urination, Drowsiness, Coordination impaired, Confusion.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Diazepam, Oxyphenonium and Magaldrate. Diazepam is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger (GABA) which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Oxyphenonium is an anticholinergic which works by blocking the binding of the a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) to its receptor in nerve cells. This relaxes the smooth muscles in the digestive tract and decreases the spasms. Magaldrate is an inorganic salt that neutralises the excess acid in stomach.
