Description:

Atecard D Tablet- 15is a combination medicine used for the treatment of high blood pressure. Frequent monitoring of blood pressure and electrolytes level is necessary during treatment with this medicine. Patients are advised to follow a strict exercise and diet regimen along with this medicine to get the best possible effect

Atecard D Tablet- 15 may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.

Pregnancy interaction:

Atecard D Tablet- 15 is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.

Before taking it, let your doctor know if you have any liver or kidney problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor for advice before taking this medicine. You also need to tell your doctor what other medicines you are taking especially those used to treat high blood pressure or heart conditions. Nausea, Diarrhoea, Headache, Fatigue, Dizziness, Cold extremities, Increased blood uric acid, Decreased potassium level in blood, Glucose intolerance, Slow heart rate, Decreased sodium level in blood, Decreased magnesium level in blood, Increased calcium level in blood, Increased blood lipid level.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Atecard D Tablet- 15 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Atecard D Tablet- 15 is a combination of two blood-pressure lowering medicines: Atenolol and Chlorthalidone. tAtenolol is a beta blocker which works specifically on the heart to reduce heart rate and make the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic which lowers blood pressure by removing extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Over time it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.
