Description:

Muciday Tablet SR- 10 is an effective bronchodilator medicine used to treat blockage, swelling, and irritation associated with bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults.

Uses / Indications:

Asthma and Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Interactions / Warnings:

Taking Muciday Tablet SR- 10 may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.

Pregnancy interaction:

Unknown. Human and animal studies are not available. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

It is better to take Muciday Tablet SR- 10 in the evening around 7-8 pm for protection against asthma symptoms throughout the night. Muciday Tablet SR- 10 will not work for sudden wheezing or asthma attacks once they start. Always keep a fast-acting (rescue) inhaler with you. Not as effective as steroid inhalers for asthma. Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor even if you feel better. Notify your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with the kidney, liver or heart disease, or have a smoking history. Your dose may need to be adjusted. TakingMuciday Tablet SR- 10 can reduce the requirement of steroids by 50%.

Side Effects:

Vomiting, Stomach upset, Heartburn, Stomach pain, Rash, Itching, Urticaria, Drowsiness, Breathing difficulty, Increased white blood cell count, Nasal inflammation, Flu-like symptoms.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it.Muciday Tablet SR- 10 may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works:

Muciday Tablet SR- 10 is a combination of two medicines: Acebrophylline and montelukast. Acebrophylline is a mucolytic. It thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation in the airways and nose to prevent asthma and relieve symptoms of allergies.

Muciday tablet may interact with other medicines and create an altered response. Please inform your doctor if you are consuming any other medicines, over-the-counter medicines (that you buy without a prescription), and herbal preparations
