Description:

Nutaxin S 500 mg/250 mg Injection is a combination medicine which may be used for the treatment of lower respiratory tract infections and genitourinary tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria. It may also be used for the treatment of infections such as bone and joint infections, skin, and soft tissue infections, intra-abdominal infections, bacterial septicemia, etc. caused by susceptible bacterial species. This medicine should be used with caution in patients with kidney diseases due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects.

How it works:

Nutaxin S 500 mg/250 mg Injection is a combination of two medicines: Cefotaxime and Sulbactam. Cefotaxime is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefotaxime against bacteria.
