Description:

Restofos 70 Tablet- 4 is used to treat or prevent weakening of the bones (osteoporosis) caused by menopause or use of steroids. Using this medicine can reduce your risk of breaking bones.

Pregnancy interaction:

Restofos 70 Tablet- 4 may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Expert advice:

Restofos 70 Tablet- 4 is best taken without food. You should take it regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you to remember to take it. Do not stop taking it until you have finished, even when you feel better. It may take several days to get the full benefit of this drug. Alenfos 10mg Tablet is only part of a program of treatment that may also include changes to your diet and taking calcium and vitamin supplements.

How to use:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. RESTOFOS 70MG TABLET is to be taken empty stomach.

How it works:

Restofos 70 Tablet- 4 is a bisphosphonate. It acts by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause the destruction of bone, thereby strengthening the bones and minimizing the risk of fractures.

Q: Is alendronic acid safe/ dangerous/ a biphosphate/ a steroid/ vitamin D?
A: Alendronic acid belongs to class of medications called bisphosphonates. It is not a steroid or vitamin D. It is safe if used at prescribed doses for the prescribed duration as advised by your doctor

Q: Can I take ibuprofen/ paracetamol with alendronic acid?
A: Avoid taking alendronic acid with NSAIDs such as ibuprofen and paracetamol as it increases the gastrointestinal related side effects

Q: Does Restofos affect your teeth?
A: Restofos is not known to affect the teeth. However, bone damage in the jaw (osteonecrosis) generally associated with delayed healing and infection is known to occur following tooth extraction

Q: Does alendronic acid contain calcium/ vitamin D?
A: Alendronic acid does not contain calcium and vitamin D. You doctor may ask to take calcium or vitamin D
